being attentive to sound has always been a large part of my reality. i hear music in every environment. relaxation and meditation are also important to my daily practice. as is play, laughter and innocent moments of joy. creating a swing that is also an instrument was a way for me to bring my experience with the outside world into a gallery context. i believe that music is one of the healing forces of the universe. being able to offer an installation that is open to audience participation, a space to play, is a way for me to transmute that feeling of being connected to the freedom of a moment and at once the creator.
