SOUND
SOUND
sound is around us always. we're never separate. a beautiful offering & at the same time a nuisance. the voice of a child, birds, a shredder in an office, clink of spoon, a building constructed. traffic. footsteps. conversation. my work with sound is about rekindling a connection with the beauty of existence. nuance. as a sound artist i capture a momentary glimpse of something & offer its potential back out to a populous audience. as performer this looks like taking in then giving outward a sound compilation. one that's both timelessly resonant & also transcends moments. there isn't really a need for genre as the sound itself is mainly about context. there isn't a compositional identity within the composition. the music is formed similar to the visual art. by a system of practice then release. by accomplishing a connection to the unknown. sound is inside & outside of all of us. all around. i hear & document in a way similar to translation. record or present. play. listen. be observer, channel.
sample. record the environment. document. pay attention. the identity of artist & musician as separate is farce.
