     Hey Thurston County and surrounding, we have a really wonderful community television station called TCTV run out of TCMEDIA on Olympia's Westside. So many fun, informative and culturally rich programs and live on the air shows made right here have enriched our channels. Visual art rotates the walls too and THIS SATURDAY, If you love quality media and enjoy art and community rich experiences, I'll be hanging out for an artist reception (2.8.2020 from 12-2:30pm) during their orientation and a studio taping. I'm showing paper cut collage illustrations from various eras of my painted in the language of maps series. Come pop in for a quick look or spend some time enjoying art and activity with me. If you have never been to Thurston Community Media or it's been a while, then I especially welcome you to have your curiosity sparked by the non-profit that brings TV to the next level. This is one of our valuable community resources that serves everyone from the first creative spark to the actual production to the final on air programming. Hope to see both familiar and new faces.

EVOCATION + TRANSMUTATION opens tonight at Allsorts Gallery 5-7pm ( 2306 Capitol Way S Olympia, 98501 ) with Artist Reception 4-7 this Sunday 12.8.19 . the show runs 12.6-12.14 (see above) - I’m really excited for how joyously these works came together - these mixed media paintings explore the interplay between color and pattern, the gradient spectrum of possibility, juxtaposed graphic black and white, dualism. an idea manifest object reality. my technique is the process of mark making, pouring, brushing, scraping, repetition, trance, releasing a desire towards the referential, allowing things to happen in a collaboration with the unknown to manifest the purest abstraction of form, a composition fully realized. layers of paint hide and synchronize in an agglomeration of evocative landscape / mind-scape / dreamscape that welcomes the observer to reference their own imagination. I see many things framed in the details and overall image, what do you see?
